An incredible time was had by a great group of fun loving dancing folks at the 2003 jg2 Line Dance Marathon the weekend of May 29th through June 1st. Workshops were taught by world renowned dance instructors and choreographers, showcasing the best new dances and time honored styling techniques. New this year to the instructor's pool was Guyton Mundy with his talented troupe of hip hop dancers. They certainly added a new flavor to the dances and his classes were packed. The most crowded class of the event was by far Scott Blevin's "Bidness" workshop, where he broke his own record for most attendees to a class with 216 folks in the workshop!
This year's theme was Super Heroes and the Jammin' Jammie Jam held Saturday at midnight showcased some very inventive costumes, including a number of Ninja Turtles, Batman and Cat Woman, X-men (and Women), the Riddler, Scooby Doo and the gang, and a giant "Super Hero" Sandwich with all the fixin's. Louie St. George's Extreme Dancers again created the back drop for the festivities by building a Hall of Justice for the parade to enter through and a Super Phone Booth.
Competitions were held through out the weekend and the performances were inspiring. Awards, along with hugs and kisses from Jean and James, were presented to each competitor, some entrants competing and winning in numerous categories.
This is a premiere line dance event that you really shouldn't miss! Make your reservations now for next year and start thinking about your costume for next year's South of the Border Fiesta at Saturday night's Jammin' Jammie Jam!
